Sankt Gallen

Sankt Gallen, with the agglomeration population of 160,000, is the capital of the St. Gallen canton in north eastern part of Switzerland. The city is situated in a valley between Lake Constance and the mountains of the Appenzell Alps with the highest peak (Säntis) of 2502 m (8200 feet). St. Gallen is one of the highest cities in Switzerland with elevation of 700 m offering excellent recreation areas.
